WORK is underway on a new play area in the Cotswolds.

The children of Moreton will soon be able to enjoy an array of new play equipment at Queen Victoria Gardens.

The Town Council has now ordered the equipment with the project expected to be completed in Autumn of this year.

The new chair of the council, Malcolm Berry, said: "I am pleased and excited to say that the council has already ordered an array of new play equipment for the QVG area and is working with the providers to establish installation as soon as the items are available.

"Completion is planned for this autumn."

The new play area is designed to be more accessible and inclusive.

Among the equipment ordered is a tipi carousel, new swings and interactive play panels.

The centrepiece will be a Fuji tower with a tube slide.
