JOCKEYS swapped jumps for humps in an unusual spectacle on Easter Monday.

Camels adorned in colourful Arabian style outfits raced at the annual North Cotswold Hunt Point to Point in Paxford near Chipping Campden on Monday (April 10).

The jockeys were also dressed in bright flashy attire and were specially trained to partake in this extraordinary event.

Six normal horse races took place throughout the day but the competing camelids were undoubtedly the stars of the show.

These splendid animals retired to a pen after their race so that visitors could say hello and learn more about them.

Camel racing is a huge sport in the Middle East and is becoming increasingly popular in the West.

Torrential rain caused the last-minute cancellation of last year's meeting this year guests enjoyed a broadcast of sunny spells.

There was also a dog show, a hound parade and a variety of trade stands to browse through on display at the event.
