'The Body Coach' Joe Wicks is the latest celebrity to join the Chipping Norton set - or should that be sets.

Mr Wicks, 37, has bought a £2.9million country house near the fashionable town where the Beckhams, Jeremy Clarkson, Amanda Holden and now Claudia Winkleman will be neighbours.

The personal trainer who encouraged millions of families to keep fit through lockdown with his daily 'PE with Joe' workouts, grew up on a South London council estate.

He opened up about his own "chaotic" early years in a BBC documentary, Joe Wicks: Facing My Childhood last year in which he talked about living in a household facing addiction and mental illness.

Now he is the owner of a Grade II-listed home with a guest cottage and the River Swere running through its grounds.

Property details say the garage has space for garden machinery and storage on one side, while the other houses a fully kitted out gym with air conditioning, wifi, and TV connection.

The four-bedroom home also has a kitchen-dining room with an electric Aga and farmhouse sink plus a boot room.

Near to the house is a newly renovated Cotswolds cottage with two bedrooms, a bath 'spa' room, boot room, snug and double-height kitchen for visitors.

Mr Wicks and wife Rosie can also enjoy healthy walks in the property's acres of land with wildflower meadows and orchard.

The father-of-three reportedly also has a beach house in Santa Monica, Los Angeles, and a £4million family home in exclusive Virginia Water in Surrey.

The fitness guru first found fame posting 15-second recipe videos online before becoming a social media superstar with his record-breaking PE With Joe videos on YouTube.

Last January Mr Wicks held a sponsored 5km run through Spiceball Park in Banbury.

Inviting locals on Instagram, he wrote: “I’m in the Cotswolds this weekend and I’ve decided I’m going to do a 5km run this Sunday. It will be my first run meet up of the year.”

Several hundred people answered the call.

They included officers from the local police station, who snapped pictures with the celebrity fitness trainer.

In 2022 Mr Wicks raised thousands for charity with a tour of the UK which included a workout with families at Waddesdon Manor near Bicester.

The seven-stop PE With Joe road trip, which he completed in a Mini Countryman, took Joe from Somerset to Perth in Scotland.

More than 5,500 people took part in group workouts, raising £35,760 for Children in Need.

Mr Wicks was made an MBE in 2020 for services to fitness and charity.
