Working on a farm may not be readily associated with style and glamour.

But that does not seem to have stopped Jeremy Clarkson from being named 'the UK's sexiest man'.

The former Top Gear presenter - whose Cotswolds farm has attracted global prominence thanks to Amazon Prime - has pipped the likes of Idris Elba and Ryan Reynolds to the crown.

Mr Clarkson, 62, was the surprise winner in the poll hosted by IllicitEncounters, which describes itself as "the UK's leading website for married people wanting to have an affair".

The poll was conducted by more than 2,000 women with Match of the Day presenter Gary Lineker second in the list and Mike Tindall third.

A spokeswoman for the poll said: "With the wax jacket and tweed shirt, clearly, Clarkson’s bad boy farmer vibe is working for the over 30s.

"Landing top spot in our table won’t earn him diddly squat, but I’m sure it will give him bragging rights on the farm."

Clarkson's Farm Season Two has been airing on Amazon with the broadcaster's well-publicised run-in with West Oxfordshire District Council over a planning application for a car park at Diddly Squat Farm.

A statement from the council over the issue said: "To try and help solve the parking problems at Diddly Squat Farm, in a recent meeting with Mr Clarkson we discussed the possibility of Diddly Squat Farm making an application for temporary planning permission for a car park in an alternative location which we felt might have been supported by the council."

But the ongoing saga with the council has seemingly failed to detract from his charm appeal.

Mr Clarkson also beat Money Saving Expert founder Martin Lewis and President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky for his apparent sexiness.
