Police caught over a dozen speeding drivers in one day.

Officers in Shipston set up on two roads on Thursday, August 1, carrying out speed checks.

Parked up first on the A3400 London Road out of the town, and then the A3400 Newbold-on-Stour, police caught a total of 14 drivers.

PC Sid Hammond said: “The locations were attended for half an hour each with six vehicles being stopped in the first location travelling above the prescribed limit and eight in the second.

“All drivers were warned of the implications of speeding and the details are recorded.

“The information is used to support the Road Safety Team based in Rugby Warwickshire who look into the deployment of static devices and the use of the mobile speed camera units.

“Our team work closely with the Community Speed Watch groups which is made up of volunteers and are very lucky to have a number of groups set up across the beat area.”
