Police in Shipston have been tackling anti-social behaviour during the summer holidays.

Warwickshire Police’s PCSO Ben Cole has been patrolling the Cotswold town recently, keeping tabs on ASB in the area.

Ben’s colleague PC Sid Hammond said that while ASB isn’t a particular problem in the area, reports tend to spike during the school holidays and during better weather.

He said: “Our Anti-social behaviour patrols were carried out by PCSO Ben Cole and he looks to attend locations that have been reported to the team as possible problem areas.

“Within the Shipston beat area there is not a big problem with ASB however during the school holidays and in the better weather there is more footfall within the parks and more reports are received.”

PC Hammond added that local councils are looking at ways to help improve the situation further.

“Shipston on Stour Sports club was attended as well as Lower Quinton and Meon Vale. The visits are aimed towards visibility and engagement,” he said.

“The team have been involved in meetings where Local Parish Councils are looking to support the younger part of the community with activities.

“Lower Quinton is currently looking into a project to encourage the use of some local facilities bordering Meon Vale utilising funds and experience.”
