A ROAD in Witney was closed for hours earlier today (August 18) after a car crash.

The incident happened at about midday in Standlake Road, Ducklington, near The Bell Inn pub.

Police closed the road at about 12.30pm and it remained close until the early evening. Emergency services were also attendance.

A picture taken by an eyewitness shows two cars with the bonnets smashed in. A red car had pieces of the vehicle broken and spread out across the road while a silver one had the front bonnet completely removed.

Commenting on a post on Facebook, one resident said: “Luckily no one hurt but a 20mph limit on this corner would be good.”

Another added: “Very reassuring to see that no shortage of police to sort out this incident.”
