The head of a secondary school in Oxfordshire is proud of staff and students after many positive A level results.

Jonathan Dennett, headteacher of Larkmead School in Abingdon, said despite the disruption caused by the coronavirus pandemic, students have achieved great results through “wonderful resilience, spirit and hard work.”

Speaking to the Oxford Mail this morning (August 18), Mr Dennett said: “It has been really positive and we have lots of happy students.

“They have worked really hard and stayed positive throughout and the staff have been really supportive – the students have got the grades they deserved which is really positive.

“Everyone who wants to go to university has got a place and we’ve got a good mix of people going to university and taking on apprenticeship as well.

“We have one student doing a degree level apprenticeship in engineering. The sixth form team were fantastic and provided the right advice and guidance as well as academic support.”
