STROUD MAYOR is launching a new weekly discussion for people to talk to her about town centre issues.

Cllr Stella Parkes is keen to speak to anyone about any of their concerns.

She said: "I am very pleased to be starting up this valuable event once again in Stroud.

“I am looking forward to meeting residents and members of the community to discuss the issues which matter most to them.”

Meet the mayor sessions were first created by John Marjoram in the 1990s as a way for the community to connect and collaborate with him..

Each mayor at Stroud Town Council has kept up with the tradition in different ways, but it was stopped due to the pandemic.

Ms Parkes was voted in as Mayor of the town council in May and is currently chair of local environmental charity, Stroud Valleys Project.

Cllr Stella Parkes will be at the Shambles every Friday from 11.30am to 12.30pm.
