CHIPPING Campden's new town clerk is Joanna Ellis, who is currently acting clerk at Badsey.
Mrs Ellis, who has a degree in politics, economics and psychology from the Open University and a law degree, was offered the job following interviews last week.
She replaces present town clerk Pauline Clarke, who is leaving to become clerk of Tewkesbury Town Council.
Mrs Ellis has been a member of Evesham Town Council and chairman of Wychavon District Council planning committee.
Councillor Ann Taylor, who was a member of the interviewing panel, said: "We all thought we picked the right person."
Mayor Chris Jones presented outgoing clerk Mrs Clarke with a bouquet of flowers.
"It has been a bit of a rough ride at times but thank you for what you've done and we wish you every success in Tewkesbury," he said.
