SKIES were lit up across the country as the Sturgeon Moon rose on Thursday night.
Clear skies meant that the glowing full Moon was captured in all its glory, making for some extraordinary shots thrilling stargazers and photographers.
These pictures were taken by South Cerney resident Fi Keates looking across one of the lakes at around 9.30pm on Thursday evening (August 11).
She said: “Last night me and my dog Doug sat by the lake and watched the sunset.
“We then turned around to see the moonrise.
"The perfect way to chill out after such a scorching day.
“I think the Sturgeon Moon was feeling the heat, it looked like it was on fire with the heat haze around it.
“It was just a matter of being in the right place at the right time and it was an extraordinary sight.”
