THE impact on the north Cotswolds of a proposed 6,000 home eco-town at Long Marston will be discussed by district councillors tomorrow.
CDC cabinet members will consider a recommendation that the council joins a working group with other neighbouring local authorities to consider the impact of the scheme, on a site two miles north of Mickleton, if it gets the go-ahead.
CDC leader Lynden Stowe recently said: "This new town of solar shoeboxes' would be an unmitigated environmental disaster for the surrounding areas.
"In particular the wider infrastructure, extending well into the heart of the Cotswolds, will be completely unable to handle the huge additional volume of traffic that would be generated."
