ON A fine calm day, playing off Evesham's white 'tiger' tees, playing long in carry, Ian Tyrrell earned a sound win with a nett 70 to clinch the February Medal on countback from Boz Harris.

The morning starters had to contend with crumbling frost on the greens and it turned out that the best scores in both Divisions came from the afternoon groupings.

Excellent gross scores from Steve Wood 76 and Simon Casey 77 set the standard from Division One, while junior Lewis Ridley carded a nett 71 playing off 17 to head the second division listings.

The Winter League which has progressed through the group stages since November has resulted in four pairs reaching the semi-final stage to be played later this month.

Jill Cleary won the event with 25 points from closest rival Jenny Marston (24).
