Police have arrested 10 people including those charged with sexual assault, stalking and drug-driving.

Thames Valley Police arrested the people after executing 11 warrants during a ‘day of action’ in Oxford.

Officers targeted those who had failed to appear at court or at a police station after being released on bail.

Among those arrested were people charged with sexual assault, assaulting an emergency worker, possession of a knife in a public place, stalking and drug-driving.

Officers from Oxford’s local policing area and the force’s Fugitive Intelligence Team were involved in executing the warrants across the city on Tuesday (June 28).

The day of action was considered a success by the force and reduced the number of outstanding warrants in the city, as well as providing additional intelligence on other wanted people.

Inspector Ian D’angeli, based at St Aldates police station, said: “This was a successful operation in partnership with the Fugitive Intelligence Team targeting those who have failed to abide by the terms of their bail.

“A significant number of arrests were made as a result of proactive activity.

“If you are wanted then please make contact with police or visit a police station as we conduct these ‘days of action’ across the force on a regular basis so we will come and find you if you don’t.”
