A 25-year-old city man has been arrested on suspicion of rape after an alleged sex attack near a layby.

A man from Worcester was arrested on Saturday (June 25) in connection with an alleged rape on the A38 near Norton, Gloucestershire.

Police had received a report that a woman had been sexually assaulted between 5pm and 6pm on Monday, June 20.

The incident happened in the vicinity of a layby, near the New Dawn Inn pub, on Tewkesbury Road in Gloucester. 

 

 

The man who was arrested has since been released on police bail with conditions while the investigation continues.

Investigating officers remain keen to hear from anyone who was travelling along the A38 in Norton and witnessed a dark-coloured or black car parked in a layby.
