A Cotswolds business owner has been left devastated after his kebab van was stolen from a car park in Moreton-in-Marsh.
Mustafa Dayan, who has run Muzzy’s Kebab from a layby near the town for 22 years, said he has hardly been able to sleep since.
The Citroen van was stolen in the early hours of Thursday morning (June 16) from the Inn on the Marsh car park in Moreton, leaving Mr Dayan unable to trade.
Police are searching for the vehicle and are asking anyone who sees it to get in touch.
“We finished work on Wednesday night, got some petrol in Moreton and parked up in our normal place,” said Mr Dayan.
“I think it must have happened sometime after 1am on Thursday and someone who lives nearby said they’d woken up at 4.30am and saw it was missing.
“I’ve been trading in a layby outside Moreton-in-Marsh since the year 2000, so nearly 23 years now. People know me, I’m there seven days a week, working hard.
“I’m an established businessman and we have a lot of customers in the area. I’m very sad, this is really affecting my business.”
Mr Dayan the van would cost him thousands of pounds to replace, on top of the fact that while he is without a vehicle, he is unable to trade.

“The effect this is having on me and my family is huge. It’s awful. I couldn’t sleep properly yesterday - I’m getting depressed about it.
“I’ve been parking it overnight in the same place for a long time and never had a problem in the area.”
A spokesperson for Gloucestershire Police said: “We received a report that a kebab van had been stolen from the car park at the Inn on the Marsh on Stow Road, Moreton-in-Marsh.

“It is believed the Citroen Relay panel van was taken between midnight and 4pm yesterday (Thursday, June 16).
