Several Cotswold towns feature on the list of best places to live in Gloucestershire.

Muddy Stilettos, the “urban guide to the countryside”, ran poll to choose the best places to live outside London.

200 locations from across the country were picked by the sites team before readers went to the polls to decide what would come out on top.

Eight locations in Gloucestershire were up for the award but it was Cheltenham that came out on top regionally.

Hero Brown, the Founder of Muddy Stilettos, said: “When people move out of London, they are searching for more than just a house, they want to find a new lifestyle that works for them.

“It’s hard to be confident on whether a location is the right place for you, but we’ve built our reputation on having first-hand knowledge on the coolest place to go and things to do in the outside of London.”

The poll was ran in partnership with property consultancy Strutt & Parker.

Kate Eales, the company’s head of regional agency, said: “When it comes to where to live, more than ever people want a really vibrant and tight-knit community. It’s a trend that deepened during the pandemic, and is likely to remain a leading factor for those looking to relocate, alongside the importance of excellent schools, commutability and local hotspots.”
