A HEREFORDSHIRE police dog is retiring after a career of saving lives.
Today West Mercia police say goodbye to PD Rebel who is leaving his team on medical retirement.
A spokesperson from West Mercia said: "Over the last four year he has had some amazing results."
Police dogs are trained to help police in their work doing everything from sniffing out drugs to tracking down missing people.
Police dogs retire if they become, pregnant, are raising puppies, or are too old or sick.
If they are killed on duty they get the same honors as their human partners.
West Mercia police dog unit were credited, and Rebel was wished a happy retirement with his handler.
