HEREFORDSHIRE ex-nurse Janet Edwards has been missing for four weeks today, spurring a search led by friends.

The police released a new appeal in the hope of finding her and have told friends and family to spread awareness and continue to hand out posters.

Wye Valley Runners club is meeting in Churchill Gardens, at the top of Aylestone Hill, Hereford, this afternoon to continue the search as they have done previously.

Our reporter Hattie Young earlier today:

She is also healthy and a keen runner, with members from Wye Valley Runners holding searches.

The last known sighting of Ms Edwards was in the Venns Lane area of Hereford at around 3pm on December 10.

CCTV pictures of her on the day show her wearing a green Raab jacket, blue jeans and casual brown boots with a white trim and sole.

Her family has also spoken of the “painfully sad” Christmas without Ms Edwards, saying they dearly miss her.

The family added: "We are infinitely grateful for the support of Jan's friends, and the community, the volunteers, and the emergency services.  Everyone involved has worked tirelessly to look for Jan.

"Very sadly, we are no closer to finding her.  We would be so very grateful if everyone seeing this would continue to look out for anything, however small, that might aid the search efforts.  We thank everyone sincerely for their support."
