THE line-up for one of this year's biggest music events has been confirmed.

Lakefest, which gets underway this August has confirmed big-name acts including UB40, Manic Street Preachers and Louise Redknapp for 2022.

Held between August 11 and 14 in the grounds of Eastnor Castle, near Ledbury, Lakefest is one of the region's most popular festivals.

There are still a few more acts to be confirmed, with the organisers making the first announcements in December.

A spokesman said: "We are here to announce the first of our epic Main Stage performers for Lakefest 2022.

"We are bringing the likes of Manic Street Preachers, UB40, Leftfield, The Reytons, Reef, Louise Redknapp, Voices Unlimited, and The Feeling all in one place.

"Stay tuned for announcements on our other acts."

Festival director Lee Martin said he was excited to be confirming these big names.

He said: "It is exciting particularly after such a difficult period in hospitality this winter.

"We have improved the Lakefest line up every in the ten years of doing this.

"Year on year it’s got better and better - Lakefest 2022 has a world class monster line up I could have only dreamt of back in 2011.

"UB40 taking the legends slot on Thursday night are just that, Leftfield are massive for the Thursday night.

"Manic Street Preachers are a stadium band headlining on Saturday night and the biggest band we’ve signed.

"We are just signing our Sunday night headliner which we will be announcing very soon so be sure to checkout out the website and Facebook page for the latest info."

The 2021 Lakefest included big name acts like Sir Tom Jones, who headlined the festival calendar, Echo and the Bunnymen, Seasick Steve and Razorlight.

Other musical highlights of the four-day event included Scouting for Girls, T’Pau and New Model Army.

There was also a "Talking Tent" featuring comedy, poetry, debate and interviews.

In addition, there were BMX shows and an appearance by Parachute Regiment soldiers The Red Devils.
