Planning permission has been secured for 67 new homes in Moreton.

The development is being carried out by multi-award-winning housebuilder, Backhouse.

The company will now build 40 open market and 27 affordable homes on land off Evenlode Road.

Steve Russell, Development Director at Backhouse, said: “We are delighted to be building in Moreton on Marsh and will deliver an outstanding new housing development for the town.

“We have stuck by our founding principles of home buyers deserving better, sensibly priced, stylish homes and providing smart living solutions.

“Backhouse is a design-led housebuilder focused on creating aspirational and desirable homes for customers to enjoy living in.”

Architect firm Clifton Emery have been called upon to design the development, which will feature one, two, three, four and five bedroom homes.

According to Backhouse, the layout, architectural approach, house types, landscape, and highway design have all been developed with the local area in mind whilst creating a high quality and distinct development.

The development will also feature a large open space, an attractive village green area, and a public walkway running through the site.

Developers say a standout feature of their homes is the focus on open place living space with light considered an important feature.

Chippenham-based Backhouse recently won a string of regional and national property awards for its latest project in Calne, one of three completed developments by the company.

It is hoped that the development in Moreton will prove to be another award-winning scheme.

The firm is also working on a further eight projects which extend across the south of England, from Somerset and Wiltshire to the Cotswolds and Oxfordshire.
