Businesses across Chipping Campden were celebrated at an awards evening hosted by a celebrity chef last month.

Pasta sauce aficionado Loyd Grossman hosted the 2021 Business and Young Entrepreneurs Awards at Cotswold House Hotel on Tuesday, November 23.

The awards, organised by the Chipping Campden Business Forum, celebrate the best businesses in the area as well as shining a light on up-and-coming young entrepreneurs.

Nick West from the Business Forum said: “Each year we try and improve the awards and this year we had the highest number of entries and the most diverse range of business nominations we have ever received, and again the students of Chipping Campden School showed us that commercial enterprise is alive and well amongst the younger generation.”

For the first time ever, local residents were invited to nominate companies they felt had gone above and beyond and in total, more than 200 nominations were received.

One winner was Paul Dixon, of Mill House Care Home on Sheep Street, who was presented with the Ambassador Award.

Mr Dixon previously managed hotels owned by Marco Pierre White before joining the care industry five years ago.

Now, he serves as the hospitality manager at the care home.

In the past he was the recipient of a Great British Care Award but this year he had the honour of judging the awards himself.

He is hopeful this most recent accolade can provide a platform for the care home to better engage with the community.

Mr Dixon said: “I hope having won the award it will open more doors within the community and enable us to have even more inclusion within the wonderful Chipping Campden.

“Our aim is simple, to enhance the lives of those and their families and wherever possible enable our care home residents to still feel they are a valued part of the town.

“Caring Homes Group, for whom I work, have fortunately shared this vision and have allowed us to thrive and succeed, winning the award was a genuine team effort and I was humbled to receive it."

Another successful business was Shire Marketing, based on Chipping Campden high street.

Company director Josh Collins said: “We are delighted to have won this award especially being up against such great companies from the local area.

“We work hard on providing a top-quality service at a fair price for our clients and we are grateful to have been nominated off the back of this.

“It is fantastic to be amongst such a variety of successful businesses in the local area.

“We would like to thank the Chipping Campden Business Forum for organizing such a fantastic awards evening."
