HUNDREDS of boys played in the 101st rugby fixture between two schools.
The match between Dragon School and Summer Fields is one of the oldest in school rugby, and to mark the occasion, one game was played with a vintage leather rugby ball.
The Dragon archives contain a photograph of the 1st XV Dragon team from a century ago, with Bernard Gadney – who went on to play for Leicester Tigers and the British Lions – in the side.

In a remarkable turn of fate, his great-grandson scored on the first team pitch in his final year at Dragon School.
A plaque to commemorate the long association between the schools was presented to David Faber, the headmaster of Summer Fields.
Emma Goldsmith, head of the Dragon, said: “This has been such a memorable day for all the boys who have taken part and it is wonderful to have been able to celebrate the links between our schools.”
