A PROLIFIC shop thief has appeared in court for stealing hundreds of pounds worth of electric toothbrushes and meat.

Terry Lippitt of Windermere Drive, Worcester admitted a string of shop thefts when he appeared before magistrates on Monday.

The 40-year-old admitted stealing £106 of meat joints from Aldi on June 23 this year. He was fined £52, ordered to pay compensation of £374 and a victim surcharge of £34 and costs of £185,

He further admitted stealing beef meat joints, also from Aldi, worth £87 on June 21 this year.

For that he was fined £52.

Lippitt also accepted that he stole four Oral B Electric Toothbrushes to the value of £470 from Boots on June 18 this year.

Magistrates fined him £52 and ordered him to pay compensation of £470.

On June 17 this year, he stole four electric toothbrushes to the value of £150 from Superdrug.

For that he was fined £52 and ordered to pay compensation of £150.

On June 22 this year in Worcester he again stole meat joints to the value of £88 from Aldi which resulted in a fine of £52.

Lippitt stole meat joints worth more than £90 from Aldi in Worcester on June 12 this year and was fined a further £52.

On June 6 he stole Lenor washing liquid valued at between £80 and £100 belonging to the Co-Op in Worcester. He was fined £52 and ordered to pay compensation of £80.

The offences placed him in breach of a 12 month conditional discharge imposed on May 13 this year after he stole a bike.

No action was taken on the breach. The balance owed to the court stands at £1,657.
