COTSWOLD residents have been in courts across the country for motoring offences.

Michael Pinner, of Oddfellows Terrace, Moreton-in-Marsh, has been fined for failing to give information on the identification of the driver of a vehicle.

Oxford Magistrates Court heard the 50-year-old, between September 16 and October 14, last year failed to give information related to the identification of the driver of a Ford Focus who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence.

Pinner was given six points and fined £180, and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34 and costs of £90.

The total, £304, was ordered to be paid in full within a month by the magistrates when he appeared at the court on August 6.

Jamie Nobes, of The Old Bull Pens, Sezincote, in Moreton in Marsh, has been fined by Hereford Magistrates for speeding. The 38-year-old was caught driving his Mercedes on the A44 Broadway Bypass at a speed exceeding 50mph on March 2 this year. Nobes was given three penalty points, fined £115, and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34 and costs of £90. Magistrates told him the full amount, £239, should be paid in full before October 28.

Rebecca Galloway, of Stow Road, Bourton-on-the-Water, was another in court for speeding.West Yorkshire Magistrates Court heard the 28-year-old, on the M62 in Leeds, drove at a speed exceeding the speed limit of 70mph. Galloway was given five penalty points, fined £240, and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34, and costs of £90. Galloway was given a month to pay the total, £364.

And Robert Cronin, of Norgran Crescent, Shipston-on-Stour, was given a driving ban after admitting an offence of drug driving.

Coventry Magistrates' Court heard the 23-year-old drove a Ford Focus on Darlingscote Road in Shipston-on-Stour on January 22 this year when he had 2.7Ug/L of Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, a component of cannabis, in his system - above the legal limit.

Cronin was banned from driving for a year. He was also fined £451, and told to pay costs of £135 and a £45 victim surcharge.
