A FARMING and agriculture show saw hundreds of visitors at the weekend, with the exceptional one-day agricultural extravaganza finally going ahead after being postponed due to the pandemic.

The Moreton-in-Marsh Show visited the county on Saturday, alongside the District Agricultural and Horse Show Society, who put on a fantastic family-friendly show for everyone in the local community.

The farming and equestrian groups joined together to showcase livestock across the 165 acre site in the Cotswolds.

Showground and trade stand secretary, Sarah Taylor said: "The show was a phenomenal success. Our trade exhibitors, some of who were trading for the first time since Covid, had record sales and appreciated our new showground layout which created a more inclusive area for our craft and retail exhibitors and allowed the visitors to enjoy our show jumping and horse showing classes. The highlight to my day was watching the Shetland Pony Grand National!"

Moreton Show has been established for over 70 years and is now one of the largest one-day agricultural shows in the country. The show provided a stage for local produce and crafts whilst delivering an entertaining and educational day out for all visitors.

Tom Hayman-Joyce, Moreton Show chairman, said: "Thank you so much to the show team and all our volunteers who have made the day such a success. I’m delighted that the show went ahead – thank you all for coming and for your amazing support. I hope you enjoyed the show as much as we did and we look forward to welcoming you back next year."

The show posted on Facebook to say they can't wait for next year's event.

The post said: "And that’s a wrap! Thank you to every single one of you who joined us at the show on Saturday. The sun was shining, the atmosphere was amazing and the feedback has been phenomenal."

Next year’s Moreton Show is on Saturday, September 3.
