The full line-up for next month’s Shipston Proms Pub Trail has been announced.

The annual Shipston Proms was scheduled to take place in June but was cancelled due to uncertainty around covid restrictions.

The three-day event Pub Trail is still going ahead, and from Friday September 3 to Sunday 5, the bars of Shipston and Brailes will be awash with musical talent.

Proms spokesperson Susan Perry said: “We are so thankful that we have been able to organise this amid the Covid situation and it has been great to have so much support beforehand from pubs and bands alike all keen to contribute to the local music scene.

“Events like this can be a much-needed lifeline for musicians as their industry has been hit hard by the pandemic.

“Fortunately, in our area, live music has been given a boost over the last few months. The music trail will add to the current resurgence of live music in our local area.”

The trail will kick off a day earlier than originally planned, with Louise James performing at The Hub Bar which is hosting a casino night on Friday night.

Saturday daytime music lovers can head to The Three Ewes for a performance by The Hanksters at 2pm or to El Café at 3pm to see Ben Bryan, who is on again at 7pm.

In the evening The Peas and The Artichokes are bringing back-to-back shows to The George at 5:45pm and 8:30pm respectively while Jack Read and the Shaders will be at the Lazy Pug from 7:30pm, with The George Inn hosting an open mic from 6:30pm for anyone looking to get involved themselves.

Elsewhere The Coach and Horses will be hosting The Dropouts from 8pm while the White Bear Inn will have a cover band from 8:30pm.

On Sunday, Jon Brindley and Greg Brice will be at The Gate Inn and Thirst Edition respectively, both at 2:30pm, and Patsy Gamble rounds out the weekend at The George Inn at 3:30pm.

Planning for next year’s proms has already begun, Mrs Perry added: “All performers that were due to appear over the last two years have agreed to roll over to 2022. That should make planning for next year a lot simpler, though a lot can happen in between!”
