Jeremy Clarkson has announced on Twitter that there will be a second series of Clarkson’s Farm on Amazon – after an apparent U-turn by the streaming service.

Viewers were left fuming after the TV presenter said Amazon had axed any notion about the series being revived.

It follows Clarkson trying to run a farm, called Diddly Squat, in Churchill in the Cotswolds.

The 61-year-old said to viewers to ‘write to Amazon’ if they were unhappy it would not get a second outing despite being well received.

Fans quickly fell in love with the programme, though the presenter admitted that it was "expensive failure" after the farm made an annual profit of just £114 in its first year.

Cotswold Journal:

Jeremy was badgered by viewers about whether it would return, and they were deeply upset when he tweeted: "No. We aren't. Write to Amazon, it's their decision."

As a result, frustrated fans tweeted at Amazon, demanding that the show return, with one tweeting: "@PrimeVideo pleasepleaseplease it was the best thing I've seen all year."

While another commented: "@primevideouk @AmazonUK what on earth are you doing?! Get series 2 signed off, now! @JeffBezos."

Now it seems people have got their way with Clarkson announcing the news in an amusing tweet.

The second season will see Jeremy attempt to diversity and expand his limited agricultural knowledge under the watchful eye of his no-nonsense team.

Responding to the news, Jeremy said: "I’m absolutely delighted that, once again you’ll be able to spend some time with Cheerful Charlie, Gerald, Lisa and of course, Kaleb. We are such a happy team."

Dan Grabiner, Head of UK Originals, Amazon Studios: "Clarkson’s Farm is Jeremy’s unfiltered love letter to farming.

Cotswold Journal:

"It is that authenticity, charm and humour, combined with the farm’s fantastic characters, which have made the series such a remarkable hit with audiences.

“We are delighted to be joining the team for another year-in-the-life of Diddly Squat, and wish Kaleb and farmers across the country luck as Mother Nature continues to take revenge on Jeremy.”
