A popular pub in the Cotswolds is set to change hands.
Claire and Jim Alexander have sold The Ebrington Arms in Chipping Campden after nearly 15 years at the helm.
Under their ownership the pub has won a number of awards, including being named the best UK village inn by the Times in 2017.
Earlier this year the picturesque pub was named the most ‘instagrammable’ in the UK by lifestyle brand Hollands Country Clothing.
The pub has been sold to Barkby Group, whose portfolio includes The Plough Inn at Kelmscott and The Bull Hotel in Fairford.
Announcing the sale on Facebook, Claire and Jim explained they would now be focussing attention on their other pub, The Killingworth Castle near Woodstock.
They said they had achieved 'more than we ever dreamed of'.
"While the locals were aghast when we rocked up from London in 2007 having never had a pub before, I think we’ve built a sustainable business to be proud of and put our corner of the Cotswolds on the map," they said.
"We’ve met characters from all over the world and some have become lifelong friends. A pub is just walls without its people and atmosphere after all.
"It’s been a pleasure and an absolute blast."
Claire and Jim confirmed he team at The Ebrington Arms will largely remain the same but head chef Adam Brown has moved with them to The Killingworth Castle.
