A 28-YEAR-OLD Cotswold man has been convicted of driving without insurance and without a valid licence.

Jack Hale, of Burcombe, Woodmancote, near Cirencester, pleaded guilty via the Single Justice Procedure after he failed to appear before Cheltenham Magistrates Court on April 28.

Magistrates heard how on September 15, last year, Hale drove on Melmore Gardens, Cirencester, without insurance or a valid licence.

He was fined £533, ordered to pay costs of £90 and pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £53.

Six penalty points were also added to his driving licence.
