A MOTHER has appealed to the public for information after she claims two men in a white van attempted to kidnap her 10 year old daughter.

Posting on the “Spotted: Worcester” Facebook page, Natalie Harrison, 33, desperately pleaded for help after she said two men almost kidnapped her daughter whilst she was out walking her dog. One of the men jumped out the back of the van and began to chase the girl as she tried to escape on May 6.

She said “I’m just so thankful she used her intuition and started running when she did. We’re so shaken up. I keep looking at every car that drives past, I’m scared to leave the house. I just want them off the streets so that the children are safe”.

A neighbour’s CCTV managed to capture an image of the van , which is confirmed to be a white Renault Kangoo.

The incident occurred between 7.50pm and 8.20pm as the young girl walked her dog on Conway, off Tolladine Road - just one street away from her home. The victim’s account of the incident said the van drove past slowly before she realised something was amiss.

The man chased her most of the way home, stopping just as she reached the alley way before her house.

The mother of three said the incident has traumatised her daughter.

She said, “She went in to her shell and didn’t want to talk about it. She was even afraid to talk to the police. I feel scared to even let her out of my sight”.

A statement from West Mercia Police said, “We can confirm that we have received a report and we are currently investigating”.

Chief Inspector Tanya Beckett said,”We are investigating thoroughly including visits to gain any relevant information. We have viewed nearby CCTV and have additional officers on patrol in the area this evening to reassure members of public”.

The girl has described the perpetrator as middle-aged, six ft, Asian man with a beard. He was seen wearing a dark grey tracksuit . Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101, or visit the force’s website westmercia.police.uk
