Graphic images have been released after a dog was shot and killed "whilst on a killing rampage" in a field of lambs.
The incident happened when a husky was let off its lead in a field in the Cotswolds.
Gloucestershire police have put out the images in a bid to highlight the need to keep dogs on a lead during lambing season.
Beside the distressing photos, Gloucester Constabulary's Rural Crime Team said on Twitter: "Is this upsetting and offensive? Probably, but this is what happened.
"The Husky was unfortunately shot whilst on a killing rampage.
"Keep dogs on a lead, it's lambing season!"
The photos were taken last year, but police have shared them again now to highlight the need for caution during the current lambing season.
