Cinderford Town 2, Evesham Utd 5 Evesham United coasted to another win to further enhance their promotion prospects.

The impressive James Knott netted a hat-trick, Mark Owen added to his tally and Joe Clarke banged in the goal of the game from 35 yards.

Cinderford goalkeeper Paul Tassell kept his side in the match with a string of fine stops but after denying Owen and Knott, the keeper was helpless to prevent Knott opening the scoring with an overhead kick after Steve Lutz had nodded down a corner in the 15th minute.

It was 2-0 ten minutes later when Clarke blasted in a beauty from distance but, after Nathan Vaughan had worked miracles to prevent David Wilkinson making it 2-1, the goalkeeper was left exposed as Jamie Addis halved the arrears after 40 minutes.

However, the result was never in doubt once Knott had made it 3-1 after 61 minutes courtesy of Owen's cross.

Three minutes later and another flowing move saw Owen tap in a simple fourth after Tassell had failed to hold on to Hayden's cross.

After more chances went to waste, Daniel Lennon's cross left Knott with a simple finish for his side's fifth five minutes from time before an assistant referee flagged for a spot-kick after Vaughan and Ben Gascoyne had clashed and Kristian Witcombe fired in Town's second but it was all too little and far too late.
