FLOOD alerts are in place for parts of the north Cotswolds.

There is a warning for the River Dikler from Condicote to Little Rissington, as well as the River Evenlode from Moreton in Marsh to Cassington.

An Environment Agency spokesman said: “Property flooding is not currently expected. River levels are high but have now started to fall slowly on the River Dikler following previous heavy rainfall. Therefore, flooding of low lying roads, paths and farmland is expected to continue today and tomorrow, especially in the Bourton on the Water area.”

They added: “River levels are high and continue to rise on the River Evenlode, but have stabilised on the River Glyme, following heavy rainfall over the last few days. Therefore, flooding of low lying roads, paths and farmland is expected to continue over the coming days, especially in the Evenlode Bridge and Woodstock areas.”

Elsewhere in the Cotswold, major clean-up operations were underway after floods ruined Christmas for many in the district.

Flooding affected areas in Cirencester, Siddington and South Cerney.
