MEMBERS of a north Cotswold football team have turned to the movies for inspiration for their latest nude calendar.

The lads of Mickleton Rangers have bared all in a series of film pastiche poses guaranteed to be big box office.

It is the second year in a row the players have undressed to raise money for charity.

Last year they raised £1,500 but team boss Richard Lewis, who came up with the film theme, said this year's calendar is a much bigger production.

"This year we have put a lot more effort into it. We have had to put the cost up to £10 because of the amount of work that went into it," said Richard, who gamely gets his togs off in some of the shots.

The candid photos, taken by team member and keen amateur photographer Neil Allen, were taken at locations throughout the Cotswolds, including the model village at Bourton and Chipping Campden leisure centre.

Film parodies include The Full Monty, James Bond, Zulu, Snow White, King Kong and The Great Escape.

Money raised from this year's calendar will go to the county air ambulance and the appeal for the families of the firefighters killed at Atherstone-on-Stour last month.

"We have had 500 printed and they can be obtained from all Mickleton shops and pubs, also at some shops and garages in Chipping Campden so every calendar sold would be greatly appreciate," said Richard.

Copies can also be bought at the bingo night at the Royal British Legion club in Chipping Campden on Sunday (dec 16) at 7.30pm.

"If anyone would like to have a copy personally signed by the team they will be at the Mickleton Shed Antiques and Garden Centre, Mickleton, with some of the lads taking full advantage of the Hot Tubs and Spas supplied by Complete Spas," he added.

The signing will be from 12.30 - 2 pm and people can bring their own Rangers calendars or they will be available from the Mickleton Shed on the day but be quick as last years calendars sold out in a matter of days.
