FREE trees are on offer in celebration of Gloucestershire's 100th year as a Shire.
As a lasting legacy of the millennium celebrations, the 1000 Trees campaign is inviting individuals and companies in the county to plant or sponsor a tree with the aim of planting 100 new trees across Gloucestershire. The first ten people to get in touch with the Gloucestershire 1000 project co-ordinator will be given free English broadleaf trees as part of the celebrations, donated by Woodlands Improvement and Conservation Ltd.
Gloucestershire 1000 is also working in partnership with The Woodland Trust, the UK's leading woodland conservation charity, to provide tree packs for local schools and local businesses can invest in a greener future by making a donation towards other tree planting schemes.
For free trees and more information, contact project co-ordinator Laura Fleming on 01242 714863. There is also an information pack on the website www.gloucestershire100.org.uk
