As lockdown measures have eased and Gloucestershire entered Tier 2 restrictions, Cotswold Farm Park was among many businesses preparing to re-open its doors to the public.

The local attraction was also gearing up to finally launch its anticipated winter evening event - ‘The Enchanted Light Trail’.

Originally scheduled to open to visitors last month, the illuminated trail is a joint venture with Tarren Production, based in Cheltenham. This new event for the Farm Park, which is run by farmer and TV presenter Adam Henson.

Mr Henson said: "Both the Farm Park team and everyone at Tarren have worked extremely hard to pull this together and it has all been a little nerve-racking!

"Despite the second lockdown throwing us a bit of a curveball, we’re so relieved to be able to open and to end this year on what will be a really magical note."

The trail uses 96,000 lights (4000m of power cable) to guide visitors around the site and through the animal barn, so that evening visitors can still experience getting up-close to some of the Farm Park’s most well-loved residents. Festive food and drinks are also available, along with crackling fire pits.

The evening event opened to its first visitors on Thursday December 3.

The Enchanted Light Trail is open until January 3, with some popular dates already sold out.

There are staggered arrival time slots from 4.15 – 7.30pm and slots can be booked online at: cotswoldfarmpark.co.uk/enchanted.
