Businesses in the Cotswolds reopened on Wednesday as the national lockdown restrictions were lifted.

The Cotswolds has now been placed under Tier 2 for coronavirus restrictions. In Tier 2 areas, alcohol can only be served as part of a ‘substantial meal' and there can be no household mixing indoors with booked tables restricted to households or support bubbles and no more than six.

While many will choose to go out and enjoy the fare of Gloucestershire restaurants, some will choose to continue to use the takeaway services that so many local pubs and hospitality businesses have offered up since they have had to diversify to stay in business.

Somewhere Else, based in Cirencester, has taken this into consideration and created their Pop-Up Takeaway evening.

‘A Taste of Japan’ launched after their new chef started experimenting with Japanese Cuisine on their newly styled menu.

The popularity of their Katsu curry and Spring Rolls birthed the idea of a Taste of Japan.

“Takeaway does not have to be the same old thing, restaurants and pubs host theme evenings on site so why not do it to take away,” said Andy Sampson, one of the bars owners.

“Not everyone will feel confident returning to restaurants this Christmas.

"We want to be able to provide something for all and Japanese cuisine has seen to be popular at the moment.”
