Following the government’s refusal to extend free school meals over the half term holiday, Hoburne Cotswold has confirmed it will be giving free half term meals to children, and not only to its holidaymakers but the wider local community.
The family-run business has volunteered to help those struggling to make ends meet after MPs voted against extending the free school meals scheme.
Hoburne will be taking part in the scheme Monday to Friday over the half term period, ending on Friday, November 6.
The offer includes a Sammy box meal or a packed lunch, along with a soft drink.
Available to its holidaymakers, holiday homeowners and the wider community, guests need to provide eligibility to receive the free meal.
Hoburne’s executive chef, Chris Blake, said: “As a family-run business, we don’t want to see families suffering through half term.
"No child should be going hungry, no matter what the circumstances are.
"We hope that this incentive will help the most vulnerable in our community.”
