A MAN from Bewdley has been fined for making a threatening phone call to the NHS.

Neil Yeomans, age 38, of Dry Mill Lane, was fined £40 after he admitted making a threatening phone call to NHS 111 in Kidderminster on July 26 this year.

Appearing at Kidderminster Magistrates' Court on Thursday, October 15, Yeomans was also fined £120 for driving while over the legal alcohol limit.

He pleaded guilty to driving an Audi in Derwent Drive in Bewdley on July 26 while he was over double the drink drive limit.

Yeomans was ordered to pay a £34 victim surcharge and was disqualified from driving for 17 months.

In another case at Kidderminster Magistrates' Court, a man from Hartlebury was fined £666 for speeding on the A449 towards Worcester.

Richard Lane, of Stourport Road, pleaded guilty to driving a Porsche car on the dual carriageway at a speed exceeding 70 miles per hour.

On top of the fine, magistrates ordered the 52-year-old to pay a £66 victim surcharge and £110 in court costs.

Lane was also disqualified from driving for 35 days.

In another case, a Kidderminster man was banned from driving after he admitted driving while he was more than double the drink drive limit.

Marcin Majewski, aged 34, of Round Hill Wharf, was caught driving a Jaguar car in Park Lane in Kidderminster on July 25 with 87 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35.

Magistrates fined him £392, plus a £39 victim surcharge and £135 to the CPS.

He was disqualified from driving for 22 months.
