FIRE crews were called to an early morning flat fire in Appleby.
The incident happened on yesterday at 1.35am at The Sands.
A spokesman for Cumbria Fire and Rescue said: "The fire involved a first floor flat.
"Firefighters used four breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire and were on scene for one hour and forty-seven minutes."
