A FLOOD alert is in place for Moreton in Marsh.

The alert is for River Evenlode from Moreton in Marsh to Cassington and also the River Glyme at Wootton and Woodstock.

Flooding is possible but property flooding is not currently expected.

River levels have risen on the River Evenlode and Glyme as a result of Storm Alex, but are now stable and starting to fall. Flooding of low-lying land, footpaths and roads is expected to continue, especially in the Evenlode Bridge, Shipton and Woodstock areas. Flooding of properties is not forecast at this point. The forecast for today (05/10/20) is for showers that are not expected to further impact river levels.

River levels are expected to remain high but are slowly dropping through today and overnight. Incident response staff are in the area clearing weeds and rubbish screens and operating weirs on the River Thames to reduce flood risk.
