THE Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre in Craven Arms is encouraging people to come along to celebrate the apple.

There will be an opportunity to do some check apple pressing and also watch apple jelly making demonstrations.

For those who decide to visit the cafe at the Discovery Centre there will be cider or apple juice as well as apple based food.

There will be a chance for families to get crafty with apples.

The apple day is on Sunday, October 25 and will include the chance to tour the orchards that will take place at 11am and 3pm.

Celebrating the apple is just one of the events scheduled for October that includes half term week and activities aimed at children.

This includes a taster session for Hogweeds’ School of Magic. Monday to Friday between 1pm and 2.30pm, £4 per accompanied 4 to 11 year olds. Booking advised.

On Saturday, October 31 there are Halloween themed activities and crafts.

Fancy dress is optional £3 per accompanied child aged 3 and over. Timed drop in slots from 11am, last slot 4pm.
