A FAMOUS cooking duo posed for pictures with fans on a visit to a small Cumbrian town this week.

The Hairy Bikers, made up of proud Barrovian Dave Myers and Geordie Si King, were seen filming a new show in Kirkby Lonsdale.

The pair were snapped in The Royal Barn, which is run by Kirkby Lonsdale Brewery, with a holiday-maker.

“I was a bit overawed to meet them to be honest but they were brilliant,” said Lorraine Simpson-Housley.

“They were so down to earth.

“They seemed to love the beer in the brewery.

“And I have to confess so did I.”

Michael Woof also managed to capture the pair with a film crew in the street.

The Royal Barn had warned customers that the venue’s capacity would be reduced due to a ‘super exciting’ reason, revealing that the BBC would be filming in the bar for an upcoming TV show.

Earlier in the day, en route to Kirkby Lonsdale, the Hairy Bikers were spotted enjoying a ‘breakfast butty’ at Langden Grill Food Truck in the Trough of Bowland.

It is not the first time the Hairy Bikers have headed north for their television programmes.

For ‘The Hairy Bikers’ Food Tour of Britain’, the pair visited Lancashire and North Yorkshire among numerous counties to find out and recreate the UK’s best dishes and meet the local food producers keeping traditional dishes alive.

During ‘The Hairy Bikers’ Pubs That Built Britain’ Dave took Si on a tour of Lake District pubs.

In the episode the pair sampled an 19th century wine called negus and competed in a traditional Lakes pub competition to find out who ‘The Biggest Liar’ was.
