A NEW online resource to help keep the community spirit strong and support vulnerable and elderly residents is being made available by the West mercia Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC).

As part of his commitment to protect the most vulnerable PCC John Campion has introduced a dedicated webpage set up with links to community groups and support services, as well as resources to encourage people to keep checking in with those around them.

With Covid-19 lockdown measures easing, local town and parish councils, businesses and organisations and West Mercia residents are all encouraged to use the resources to help keep the community spirit strong and support those that may be more vulnerable, particularly as people return to their daily routines.

Resources can also be downloaded from the PCC’s website – and given to those who may not have internet access.

These resources can be found here www.westmercia-pcc.gov.uk/in-your-community/support-for-elderly-and-vulnerable-communities/

Mr Campion said: “I have been amazed at how communities have stepped up to ensure they look out for their neighbours, friends and family during the national pandemic.

“Now is the time to make sure we don’t lose the connections that have been formed as a result of this challenging time and we build on the strength of the local support networks.

“I want to make sure that people know what services are out there and how they are accessed, and I hope by making these resources available we can help to keep our communities protected and fully supported.”
