Star-gazers continue to be bewitched by the comet Neowise, which has appeared in the sky over Herefordshire.

So we've picked the five pictures received from readers that we think best capture the comet it all it's glory. If you have one you think is just as good, or better, you can post it in the Hereford Times Camera Club.

Comets are mostly made of dust, rocks and ice, and are the remnants from time the solar system was formed more than 4.6 billion years ago.

Neowise, which has only recently been discovered, will reach its closest point to Earth today (Thursday), and will be visible from anywhere in the UK for the rest of the month.

The comet was discovered by NASA’s Near-Earth Object Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer, or NEOWISE, on March 27.

NASA said the comet has become one of the few “naked-eye comets” of the 21st century after it “suddenly” became visible this month.
