A MAN was hit over the head with a bottle in a racially aggravated attack outside Harry Ramsden's in Bournemouth.

Police have released a CCTV image of two men they would like to speak to after a disturbance at the beach on Tuesday June 23 just before 9pm.

Officers were called to reports that a group of black men in their 20s had been racially abused by a group of white men of similar age.

An altercation then took place and one of the black men suffered a cut to his head, believed to have been caused by a bottle.

Police Constable Adam Lillywhite, of Bournemouth police, said: “Dorset Police takes hate crime very seriously and we have been making a number of enquiries to try and identify the individuals responsible.

“We have obtained CCTV showing two people we would like to speak to as part of our investigation. I appreciate the image is not of the best quality but I am hoping someone is able to recognise them and we owe it to the victim to explore every line of enquiry available to us.”
