SIR – I do not always agree with councillor Alan Amos but for once I totally agree with his comments in the Worcester News (Conversion criticised, May 9).

The Middle Battenhall Farm saga has been going on for many years and like many other applicants who flout the planning rules here in Worcester, most get away with

it because we have a non-existent enforcement system.

Some months ago the Civic Society had a meeting with the planning office and in reply to a question about enforcement were told that there were in excess of 200 outstanding enforcement orders.

When is Worcester City Council going to take enforcement seriously and employ an Enforcement Officer who is prepared to do the job he is paid to do.

PHIL DOUCE

Chairman, Worcester Civic Society
