Like so many other groups and organisations in Shipston-on-Stour, Shipston Cycling Club has been forced to cancel its real-life gatherings amid the coronavirus pandemic.
However, that hasn’t stopped some members from riding in their garages, sheds or spare rooms.
Using a bike mounted on a turbo trainer and a virtual cycling app, people can ride in fantasy worlds or on routes based on real-world landscapes (for example London and Yorkshire).

Some of the various apps such as Zwift, Trainer Road and Bkool also offer virtual group rides and training sessions to build fitness.
A review of all the available options has been posted on the club’s Facebook page today (Sunday, April 5), with advice on setting up a turbo trainer to follow next week.
The club say they would love to hear from anyone interested in joining us for a virtual ride. More details can be found at facebook.com/ShipstonCycling
