REDDITCH United’s losing streak in the Southern League Premier Central Division stretched to 18 games despite a spirited show in Tuesday's 2-1 defeat at Royston Town.

United went behind after just ten minutes, when Royston’s Matt Bateman slotted in.

The home side had chances to extend the lead but Redditch managed to keep it to 1-0 at half-time.

Town dominated large parts of the second-half and went 2-0 up in strange fashion with 15 minutes left when Josh Castiglione’s corner went straight untouched.

Redditch were offered a life-line with 10 minutes left when a penalty was awarded for handball. Brandon Diau scored his third goal in three games from the spot to spark a tense finale, but United left empty handed as the hosts saw out the game.

Littleton returned to winning ways with a narrow 1-0 win at Shawbury United in their West Midlands Regional League (WMRL) Premier Division match.

A headed goal from Myles Julien in the first-half and a resilient defensive performance in the second was enough to seal the three points.

The win sees The Ton Boys move up into the top half of the table and just four points away from the four promotion places.

WRML Division One leaders Droitwich Spa were left frustrated after their match was abandoned with just 13 minutes left to play.

Spa were 2-0 up thanks to second-half goals from James Lennon and Matthew Hunt before floodlight failure caused the referee to halt the game.

Westfields saw their Hellenic League Premier Division trip to Tuffley Rovers postponed.
